Memory (RAM) Increase for Large End User Capacity¶
Performance on a VOSS Automate installation with less than the prescribed amount of RAM may degrade when a large end user capacity is reached.
Unified Node Deployment: Memory on unified nodes of a cluster with a database role should be 16GB with 16GB reservation.
Modular Cluster Deployment: Memory on database nodes of a multinode modular cluster should be 32GB with 32GB reservation.
Modular Cluster Deployment: Memory on application nodes of a multinode modular cluster should be 16GB with 16GB reservation.
Unified Node Deployment¶
For each site with a multinode cluster, for each non-primary database server:
Shut down the non-primary database server.
In VMware, increase the memory for each non-primary database server node at the site as follows:
In the Inventory panel, select the virtual machine.
In the Hardware list on the Summary tab, select Memory > Edit.
On the Resources tab, Memory > Resource Allocation and ensure the minimum allocation is 16GB.
Click OK.
Restart the database server.
Repeat the process described above for the primary database server.
Modular Cluster Deployment¶
For each site with a modular cluster, for each non-primary database server:
Shut down the non-primary database server.
In VMware, increase the memory for each non-primary database server node at the site as follows:
In the Inventory panel, select the virtual machine.
In the Hardware list on the Summary tab, select Memory > Edit.
On the Resources tab, Memory > Resource Allocation and ensure the minimum allocation is 32GB.
Click OK.
Restart the database server.
Repeat the process described above for the primary database server.
