Clone a Role#

This procedure clones an existing role for a specific hierarchy node (provider, reseller, customer, or site).

To clone a role:

  1. Log in as hcsadmin (Provider deployments), or entadmin (Enterprise deployments), or Provider administrator.

    Note

    Administrators can clone roles associated with, or below, their level in the navigation hierarchy.

  2. Choose Role Management > Roles.

  3. Click the role that you want to clone.

  4. Choose Action > Clone.

  5. In the Role field, enter a unique name for the role.

    Note

    Provide a descriptive name, using up to 50 alphanumeric characters, including spaces, period(s), hyphens (-), and underscores (_).

  6. Optionally, in the Description field, add a description for the role.

  7. Click Save.

    The role is saved to the hierarchy that appears in the breadcrumb.
