Mapping Summary

Mappings can become complex, so a Mapping Summary modal is provided to present an overview of the mapping structure.

  1. From any Field Mapper View, click on Mapping > Mapping Overview.

  2. A modal will be shown offering the choice of perspective for the summary. There are two different perspectives available:

    1. Field Mapper Views, summarising which Target roles they are configured to map on to.

    2. Mapped Target Roles, summarising which Field Mapper Views they are mapped from.

In the following, the Field Mapper Views perspective is chosen, the two perspectives are functionally very similar and the following information is applicable to both scenarios, with just a few minor differences.

  3. A list of the current Field Mapper Views (or Mapped Target Roles) will be displayed.

Each row displays the total number of filters applied on that entry (not available for Target Role perspective), the number of the entrys mapped fields and the total number of fields available for that entry. If you hover over the filter column, a popover will display the filters currently in place for that entry.

Select an entry from the list to continue.

  4. Once an entry is selected, a field mapping summary for that entry will be shown.

The image below illustrates the options available for the Field Mapper View perspective:

    1. The number of mapped fields and filters applied on the entry are indicated. The filters can be hovered over to present more information.

    2. Once an entry has been selected, the entry selection will change to present the related entries which you can (optionally) navigate in to.

    3. To move back to the previous View (the parent), click this button.

    4. A list of Target Roles mapped on to by the Field Mapper View will be displayed, along with the number of fields mapped on to by the selected View. Clicking on an entry will focus the field mappings on to that Role (more on field mappings below).

    5. Shown on the left are all of the Views Source Fields. If at least one mapping exists for a field, it will be highlighted green. A field with no mappings defined will be left white.

    6. The Views Source Fields can be filtered on Mapped, Unmapped or All fields. Mapped is selected by default.

    7. Shown on the right are all of the mappings on to Target Fields. A Source Field can map on to many Target Fields (of possibly different roles), and in this case many Target Fields are displayed.
