Clone a role

This procedure clones an existing role so that you can customize it. 
 

1. Log in to the Automate Admin portal. 

   .. note::
      
      Administrators can create or clone roles at or below their hierarchy.

2. Go to the **Role Management** list view.
3. Click on a role to view its details.
4. Click the toolbar **Clone** icon.
5. Modify the cloned role. You can update any fields. 

   Ensure you provide a value or select an option for 
   all mandatory fields (Name, Access Profile, Menu Layout, Dashboard).  

   Optionally, you can also change the role description, interface (if relevant), theme, Self-service links (if relevant), 
   or permitted hierarchy types.

      The role name must be unique. Provide a descriptive name, using up to 50 alphanumeric characters,
      including spaces, period(s), hyphens (-), and underscores (_).

6. Save your changes. The new role is created.
