Upgrade Notes for VOSS-4-UC 19.3.2

Upgrade Overview

In a new release, there are a number of changes that could relate to exposing new features or capabilities in the system. The default out of the box system would expose these. However, on a system where the configuration around the user experience has been applied, this might mean some changes to configured menus, display policies, and so on to expose the new features in your setup.

Where relevant, we have included this information with the feature information to assist in planning for configuration changes as part of the upgrades. This setup could vary.

Note

  • For Release 19.3.2, there is no upgrade procedure with an ISO.

EKB-4642: Improve RIS API data collection performance

The RIS data collector service is enabled by default. Although performance has been improved, the service can now be disabled by de-selecting the Activate Phone Status Service option in data/Settings. When clearing or enabling the check box on data/Settings, log in on the platform command line interface (CLI) and restart the service:

$ cluster run application app start voss-risapi_collector

EKB-4666: Implement list operation to refresh status and IP address for a list of phones.

The Unified CM phone IP address and status show on the Phones list view Registration Status and IP Address columns.

If the status action is carried out from the Phones list view, the operation will always fetch and display the current information for the displayed phones directly from the Unified CM.

The administrator’s access profile associated with the role needs to be updated to allow the administrator to carry out the status action. Review the default HcsProviderAdminAP for permission examples for relation/SubscriberPhone.

Since the result of the status action is in real time, the current status of the list requires that the action carried out in order to see the latest values.

There is no cache of data resulting from this action. Any values shown in the columns would not be current, but are the cached values from the RIS data collector if it is enabled.

When carrying out the status action, the data in the Registration Status and IP Address columns can only be viewed.:

  • The latest data only shows for the current list of phones on the GUI.
  • The data in these columns is not stored in the database and cannot be exported.

EKB-4795: Device Rerouting Calling Search Space not set when using 10.5 AXL API

This defect fixes an issue where the Rerouting Calling Search Space value for a phone/device is not provisioned on Unified CM when using version 10.5 of the AXL API.

After upgrading to 19.3.2, perform a data sync to re-import the device/cucm/PhoneType model type for all version 10.5.x. Unified CM Clusters
